The canterbury museum of fun

Hi I'm going to talk you about the Christchurch museum, yesterday (16/9/19) my hub went to the Christchurch museum and it was a lot of fun so I'm going to tell you about what happened so here we gooooooooooooooooooooo.

When we got there we had to wait for a man to show us how the museum and the garden around it functions. There are some parts where we are allowed to touch the exhibits and some there were not. Most New Zealand museum's won't allow you to touch anything because they think it is too valuable.

I went up to the Asian part of the museum and looked at the birds and dinosaur's and then we went to the bugs and the bug puns like ants in yo pants and then we went to the antarctic area and then we went to the questioning area where there was a quiz depending on which way you came from and also there was three scales for how tall you are how far you can jump and something else I can't remember and that's as much as I can remember of the free roam part.

Now for the Maori technology part. First we went and got told a story of a Taniwha a Maori water monster and a beautiful lady and then we went and we had a little free roam of the area of when the Polynesians' had arrived in New Zealand and then when the Polynesian had settled in New Zealand and called themselves Maori.

A letter to home

                              A letter to home

This what letter would have looked like when people came to new Zealand and sent letters homes.
so lets go

Dear grandma Anne
it has been two weeks on this  and we haven't found any land yet and I am all ready sick and tired of the boat and sea and the captain and every one is arguing and people are stealing from one another and my boat is the worst because everyone is starving because we were the best boat when we started but when we left the docks every one from the other boats started stealing from us and the only thing I've eaten for the past two weeks is two carrots and raw potato and the one ship that stole from us is eating like the royal family I will tell you more when I have more paper

sincerely Jack Preston

if you were in situation what would you do?

winter Sport

                         Winter sport.

Sport is what you normally do on weekends or at school. About school sports at St Francis of Assisi school there is rubgy, soccor, hockey, netball, basketball and thats it so first rugby rugby is were you try to get the ball to the try line and one try is five points and when you and if you get it through posts which is a conversion.  Soccor. Soccor is when kick a sphere ball into a goal to score points. Now to hockey. Hockey is the sport I play. My team has only lost two games tied two and won the rest. Hockey is when you have a little round ball and you have sticks to hit the ball in to the small goal. Netball is a sport were if you have the ball you can't move unless you pass or you get close enough to the hoop. Basketball is like netball except for when you have the have the ball but you have to bounce it with one hand and there are three types of shots 1 pointer,  2 pointer and 3 pointer but there are there are diffrent distances for each shot.I think my fitnes has im proved a lot over the weeks because before i started I hated running but now when it has finished I love to run.

Do you like to play sport?

Conservation is Key

In reading this term, we have been reading books and articles about the environment.

An interesting article that I read was about Conservation.
Conservation is about looking after our animals and environment.

The new ideas that I now have are...

  • people are cuting off rhino horns for medicine
  • there are hunting bans in places because of the risk of the animals.
  • trips to where there are endangered animals is called ecotourism.
I think that ecotourism is good because it helps the sanctuary that the endangered animals.
from the guardian

How can you help to look after the rhinos?
